#68 Dreams Do Come True

Once upon an ancient time
In a land by an azure sea
The kingdom had a princess
But her prince was yet to be

Her castle was a wonder of gold
A mountain's snowy peak it crowned
The princess searched many distant lands
Alas, still no prince was to be found

The princess sighed in sleep one night
And, in a watercolor dream
She saw a handsome strapping lad
By an emerald stream.

As she gazed into his eyes
The dream faded into gray
The princess awoke in ruby's dawn
Within her heart, his image did stay.

That night in the castle a ball was held
The princess danced all night
The gala was grand! Music and laughter reigned!
But, when the sky met morning's light....

The princess was asked to dance again!
His smile was like sun's beam!
She looked upon him in wonder --
It was the gent in the dream!

They were married in grand ceremony
They began a life that was new!
The kingdom at long last had a princess and prince
The princess' dream at long last came true!

The difficulty with marriage is that we fall in love with a personality, but must live with a character.
~Peter Devries

I dreamed of a wedding of elaborate elegance,
A church filled with family and friends.
I asked him what kind of a wedding he wished for,
He said one that would make me his wife.
