This is the place to search for a sad poem for that special person. The best resource for quotes and sad poetry.

The walls we build around us to keep out the sadness also keep out the joy.

#90 Sad People

Sad people do look sad
Seems like they're all caved in
Sad people can never do
Because they're all done-in

Sad people's shoulders hang
Like a willow tree
Gloom and doom is the only thing
That they ever see

The corners of their mouth
Always point toward the floor
Just a little grin for them
Is a monumental chore

Their eyes are sad and droopy
Without a twinkle there
Empty lifeless looking
Seeing nowhere stare

Their entire body hangs down
Like a floppy mop
It looks like their pick-me-up
Sat down and took a plop

So if you're sad and poopy
Let me be precise
I can make you happy
Just follow my advice

While standing down and droopy
Pick up your left knee
Hold it there for a while
And listen close to me

Take your right forefinger
And put it in your left ear
Wiggle it around a bit
Until your ear is clear

Bend down with your other hand
And grab on your right toe
Then wiggle 'round your rear end
Backward to-and-fro

Can this make you happy
You might ask just how
If before you were sad
You're really really
funny looking now

There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.

--Carl Jung

I seldom think about my limitations, and they never make me sad. Perhaps there is just a touch of yearning at times; but it is vague, like a breeze among flowers.
--Helen Keller

Beginnings are scary. Endings are usually sad, but it's what's in the middle that counts. So, when you find yourself at the beginning, just give hope a chance to float up. And it will.
--Birdee Pruitt (Sandra Bullock) Hope Floats

Sadness flies away on the wings of time.
--Jean de La Fontaine
