The walls we build around us to keep out the sadness also keep out the joy.

#61 Misery

I hate the world,
The world hates me
I just wish everybody
Would let me be.
All i ask for
Is one day to
Say everything
I have to say
one moment in life
to share my grief
one person in life to understand my pain.
someone who'll let me shed a tear
someone to say have no fear.
sometimes i wonder if that day will
ever come, or perhaps it
has come and gone.
At any rate, i sit here,
blade in my hand, screaming,
wishing someone could hear.
But no one cares, or so i think.
And then from somewhere in the darkness
there's a light that blinks.
Out comes my angel, so it appears
To take me away, far away from here.
She knows my grief,
she shares my pain.
And just when i think everything
will be okay, my buzz dies off and
i realize there will never be an end
to all this misery, all this pain
The weight will never be lifted, it will
only be gained. All i ask is that you see
everything that you've done to me. Granted,
i took the wrong road,
i ruined my life, but you never once cared, never even
tried to put up a fight. We've put up a barrier now, and it can't be dug through. But maybe one day i'll
see the light and come running back to you. For now i'll sit here, listening to you scream and shout about
something new that i did wrong, even if i
meant no harm. Although i sit cutting, inflicting more pain,
maybe even enough to drive myself insane,
i'll one day see the real truth, that being i may not be
the right daughter for you.
It hurts to say good bye this way,
but there is no other way.

There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.

--Carl Jung

I seldom think about my limitations, and they never make me sad. Perhaps there is just a touch of yearning at times; but it is vague, like a breeze among flowers.
--Helen Keller

Beginnings are scary. Endings are usually sad, but it's what's in the middle that counts. So, when you find yourself at the beginning, just give hope a chance to float up. And it will.
--Birdee Pruitt (Sandra Bullock) Hope Floats

Sadness flies away on the wings of time.
