This is the place to search for a sad poem for that special person. The
best resource for quotes and sad poetry.
The walls we build around us to keep out the sadness also keep out
the joy.

#23 A Shadow Unknown
He hides within shadows,
Never showing his true intentions,
Keeping his identity unknown.
Burying himself within the cover of his cloak,
Worn and tattered from his journeys,
Unraveling as the wind blows through it.
But he remains undisturbed,
Even as life around him starts to fade,
Darkness eclipsing the sun.
The rain pours down,
Not allowing life to move on,
But it never seems to trouble him.
Every breath he draws in,
Takes someone else's,
Until they slowly fade away.
He takes all he can from the world,
And offers nothing to us in return,
Except for the pain he leaves behind.
Hatred feeding off of his core,
Anger following close behind,
Only sadness will conquer all.
I have come to know him all too well,
His visits are dreadfully frequent,
Taking something as he leaves.
I try to tell him he's not welcome,
For only pain follows him,
But he calls upon my hospitality far to often.
I want him to vanish from my life,
But death himself will forever follow my family,
Until only I am left.
There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the
other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and
the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.
--Carl Jung
I seldom think about my limitations, and they never make me sad. Perhaps there is just
a touch of yearning at times; but it is vague, like a breeze among flowers.

Beginnings are scary. Endings are usually sad, but it's what's in the
middle that counts. So, when you find yourself at the beginning, just give hope a chance
to float up. And it will.
