The walls we build around us to keep out the sadness also keep out

#22 Angel
Our hearts filled with despair and regret
We had to make a decision we will never forget
You see mommy has a disease and I was very sick
And the doctor's said my body was unable to handle it
Today was the day we had to say goodbye
We named you our angel up in the sky
We love you so much and will not forget you
Love, Mommy, Daddy, and your brothers too...
Mommy and Daddy please don't burden yourselves and cry
For today, I opened my eyes to see a man
He said my child please take my hand
We walked across the clouds in the sky
He told me about everything from the beginning of time
He told me about his plans for everyone's lives
And how not everyone always understands why
I know you do not understand the plan right now
But one day you will come to know why and how
God told me about when he walks next to you holding your hand
But you look back and only see one set of footprints in the sand
That is true but now when you look back you will see two
Mommy and Daddy - I Love You
And don't worry your angel will be here waiting for you
Dedicated to Kim and Paul McConnell
In Memory of Angel

There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the
other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and
the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.
--Carl Jung
I seldom think about my limitations, and they never make me sad. Perhaps there is just
a touch of yearning at times; but it is vague, like a breeze among flowers.

Beginnings are scary. Endings are usually sad, but it's what's in the
middle that counts. So, when you find yourself at the beginning, just give hope a chance
to float up. And it will.
