#32 A Reference for God.
I have employed God intermittently
for over half a century,
and it is with regret that I
have difficulty in
recommending Him.
Where Health and Safety issues
are concerned, His ineptitude
is legendary.
One of the planets He has cobbled
together, is a disease ridden,
environmentally unsound,
unstable mess. It isn’t an
exaggeration to say
it’s a ‘death trap’.
He is almost completely
lacking in social skills;
a curmudgeon by nature
who clearly thinks very highly
of Himself, whilst being
incessantly critical of others.
Avoiding responsibility seems
to be a watchword
of his psyche, though He is quick
to claim credit for things
that go well, even if His input
may be minimal, or at all observable.
Though He claims to know
‘everything about everything’
it is evident that He does not have
the wherewithal to frame a viable
feasibility study, nor the capacity
to construct a credible
critical path analysis.
Searching my memory, I am
finding it difficult to recall
anything that He has done, that
has not sooner or later
broken down or come apart.
As for customer relations;
His ‘take it or leave it’, attitude
proves to be unattractive to
many potential clients,
and his communication record
shows that in that field, His
efforts are as ineffective as His
methods are bizarre.
Timekeeping appears to be
something He just
doesn’t recognise. He turns
up when He feels like it, and
can rarely be relied on
to be around when He is
really needed.
I have confidence in
confirming that I advise His
early retirement, though there
may be some difficulty
in discerning that condition
from His current
state of employability.
When a man retires and time is no longer a matter of urgent importance,
his colleagues generally present him with a watch.
R.C. Sherriff
Retired is being twice tired, I've thought
First tired of working, then tired of not.
Richard Armour
O, blest retirement! Friend to life's decline -
How blest is he who crowns, in shades like these,
A youth of labor with an age of ease!

The challenge of retirement is how to spend time without spending money.
Author Unknown
Retirement is wonderful. It's doing nothing without worrying about
getting caught at it.
