#26 Lazy Day
A lazy sun sleeps on fluffy clouds
Like an old granny taking siesta.
Is a warm day with stagnant air,
Roses bow their head tired of heat,
An opened umbrella sheds over a table
And a cat purrs, eyes shut, on a seat.
It’s a good day to rest and enjoy the summer.
Coffee cups steam their aromas
As I come out at the patio.
You leave your work for a moment pushing your glasses
Up the nose to look and smile.
The grey roots of your hair need to be dyed,
Your face becomes rich, maybe too rich
Of unwanted folds around your eyes, but your smile,
Your ever-knowing smile remains young.
Over the fence, children play on the backyard,
The sun wakes up and slowly moves home
And I watch you sewing a Gobelin
Trying not to remember that children
Fight under the sun of the heated Orient.
When a man retires and time is no longer a matter of urgent importance,
his colleagues generally present him with a watch.
R.C. Sherriff
Retired is being twice tired, I've thought
First tired of working, then tired of not.
Richard Armour
O, blest retirement! Friend to life's decline -
How blest is he who crowns, in shades like these,
A youth of labor with an age of ease!

The challenge of retirement is how to spend time without spending money.

Retirement is wonderful. It's doing nothing without worrying about
getting caught at it.
