R.M. Vaughan

R.M. Vaughan R.M. was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, and now resides in Toronto after living in Montreal and Ottawa. He holds a Master’s Degree in English/Creative Writing from the University of New Brunswick. He is the author of two poetry chapbooks, one full volume of poetry, a selection of dazzling scarves (ECW, 1996), and a dozen staged plays. He was the 1994-95 Playwright-in-Residence at Buddies in Bad Times, and he has contributed poetry, essays and fiction to numerous anthologies and over 100 periodicals. R.M. is a frequent contributor to CBC’s National Commentary series. His first novel, A Quilted Heart, has just been published by Insomniac Press. His second book of poems, Invisible To Predators, will be published in teh fall of 1999 by ECW Press. He maintains a parallel career as a visual artist; his paintings, text-based works and installations have been exhibited in solo and group shows in Atlantic Canada and in Toronto, where he is a member of the Symbiosis art collective). When not making art, R.M. supports liberal causes and paramilitary homosexuality.
