Edith Nesbit

Edith Nesbit Edith Nesbit was born in London. She studied in England, France and Germany. At the age of 17 she published her first poems and later on she began writing short-stories, novels and tales fro children. She died in 1924, leaving behind more than 40 works, considered to be among the best-known books for children.
Her most famous novels include The Story of the Treasure-Seekers (1899), The Wouldbegoods (1901), Five Children and It (1902), The Pheonix and the Carpet (1904), The New Treasurer-Seekers (1904), The Railway Children (1906) and The Enchanted Castle (1907).
