Anastasia Clark

Anastasia Clark Anastasia Clark is the author of several books published by Sun Rising Poetry Press. Her full-length titles include Grieving With Poetry (2004)- poems written after the death of her parents, Bloodsongs (2004)- poetry about women’s issues, Skeletons and Other Complaints (2004)- poetry about life’s challenges, Vagabond Pond (April 2006)- poems about feeling lost, and Electric Petticoats (Fall 2006)- poetry celebrating the spicier side of life. Her chapbooks include the POETRY PETALS collection- themed booklets designed for gift and floral baskets. Titles include Friendship Poems, Healing Poems, Holiday Poems, Humorous Poems, Inspirational Poems, Kaleidoscope Poems, Nostalgic Poems and Romantic Poems.

She holds a Master of Science in Administration degree and also a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies. She served eight years in the U. S. Marine Corps.

She grew up in Framingham, MA and served as Poet-In-Residence to the public schools during 1977-78. Her work has appeared in numerous literary journals and anthologies. Some of her awards include First Place for “The Celebration of Bloom,” Town of Framingham Writing Contest, 1975; Third Place for “The Spring in Me,” Windward Oahu News Spring Writing Contest, 1988; and Third Place for “My Valentine Garden,” Eden Florist Valentine Writing Contest, 2004. Her poem, “Old Volcanoes,” was also nominated for the prestigious Pushcart Prize in 2004.

She served two years as Poetry Editor and Poetry Columnist for Epiphany Magazine: a celebration in writing. She also served as Poetry Columnist for two other on-line magazines: Universal Personality and Cold Glass Magazine.

She currently resides in South Florida with her husband. She has two grown children and one grandchild. She conducts various poetry readings and appearances at libraries, schools, book stores, galleries and other venues.

She has been interviewed by Eileen Soler for The Miami Herald (Oct 2005) and Beth Feinstein for The Sun Sentinel (Aug 2006).
