I once knew a girl
Who used to run to me

Whenever she was scarred
She could always cry with me

She was so young and innocent
Could not believe her strength

To cause peace within her family
She'd go to any length

Try as though she might
She could never make things perfect

She always gave her all
Much more than you'd expect it

Just so bright and happy
You'd never know her pain

She'd never let you in
Never would complain

One day that precious little girl,
Her eyes turned cold as ice

She'd taken all that she could take
Make no more sacrifice!

They'd caused her so much more than tears
They'd caused her so much pain

She'd cut herself to get relief
Still, She'd not complain

You'd never know her pain was there...
Until you saw those eyes

They look so dull and empty
Just like she felt inside

I only knew when it got bad
The day that she stopped crying

She swallowed pain and carried hurt
Inside her soul was dying

Someone tell this little girl
That tears are lovely gifts

They help reduce our pain
So we don't drown within the rifts
