I saw a man
He was alone
Overseas
Away from home

Always fighting
Lack of sleep
Brave heart
Makes us weep

Fighting for freedom
Fighting for joy
Fighting for girls
Fighting for boys

Under pressure
In midst of flak
O brave soldier
Watch your back

To the left
A soldier falls
Pity the man
Who makes the calls

Be careful soldier
Behind enemy lines
Watch your step
Look out for mines

On your mission
A soldier's in need
Make sure you answer
Make sure he's freed

That's your mission
to save some lives
Now go home
To your grieving wives
