#155 The Girl...
She stands there
in the crowd
lonely, scared, and hungry.

She's all alone
no one to love
no family, home or money.

Look at her face
into her eyes.
Why do you turn her down?

That's okay
she'll think of you
tonight while she sleeps on the ground.

Her face, it seems
so very plain.
No love is in her eyes.

She's worn it well
over the years
it's still her only disguise.

She is beautiful
i'm so sure
if her smile, we could see.

But it's buried down
in her heart
beneath pain and tragedy.

So tomorrow
when you see her
tuck her hair behind her ears.

Give her the first
smile she's seen
in many, many years.

Doesn't it seem
like we should do more?
We're given the chance every day.

Take this as
a lesson learned
and show love in a stronger way.

That girl won't be there
waiting forever
but somebody always will.

There will always be
one broken heart
and one child left standing still.
