#99 Just A Friend
I really thought he liked me,
then he dated my best friend.
I guess I was so upset,
I convinced myself it'd end.
No sooner that it started, they broke up-
He was free!
But would I have a chance to let him notice me?
I thought he was giving me hints,
A wave, a wink, a smile,
And every time he did, I confess!
My heart grew a mile.
Then my world was shattered as he went out with someone else.
So then I learned to convince me,
That I was thinking about myself.
I'd convince myself to let it flow,
And if it was meant to be,
Then he would make it happen,
Then he would choose ME.
For a while, it worked out,
My plan was going great!
Until I learned he'd ask my friend,
To go out with him on a date...
So now they're going steady,
And I really hope it'll end...
In hopes that he will think of ME,
As more than...Just a friend...
