#28 Soul Mates
Almost four years ago, we fell in love.
Whispered words of endearment,
Hurried kisses so as not to be seen,
Long chats on either the computer or telephone sustained our desire
Until we could be together all the time.

Somewhere along the line everything fell apart
We each went our separate ways and said goodbye to our love.
A marriage diverted, derailed, left by the wayside.
Dreams of being together forever forgotten, discarded.
Alas, our friendship remains.
A friendship that has weathered many a storm in our romance
And now our friendship.
Love and loyalty to one another will prevail.
Friends forever we both desire.

I truly believe you came into my life for a purpose.
That purpose was to love me for the time you did.
And when I was strong enough to make it on my own,
You left our love behind
Embarking upon our friendship.
Which will forevermore sustain whatever is thrown at it.
Which will forevermore bind us together
As we strive for happiness.

You have been and are my soul mate.
A soul mate that moved into my life when I needed you.
A soul mate you will remain as my friend.
