#26 I'll Miss You When I'm Gone
I called you friend for part of my life,
With you I've shared my love and strife,
You've changed me and that's true,
I have to ask 'Did I do the same for you?'
Have I changed your life in some little way?
Did I somehow make you have a better day?
I must know before I go,
The impact of my love you must show,
It took me forever to find,
My friends have my back when I'm in a bind,
I hate to leave you here all alone,
But you all love me you have shown,
Please don't replace me in your heart,
With deepest regrets I must depart,
I don't want to say what I have to say,
You must realize this isn't some play,
We don't all live happily ever after,
But luckily my life was full of laughter,
I want to live my life,
Without pain, suffering, or strife,
It doesn't seem possible to do what I have to do,
Before I die I must tell you,
You mean the world to me,
I hope that you will someday see,
Dying was my one true fate,
And for that meeting I can't be late,
When I die you mustn't cry,
And I won't either' I'll try,
I hate that all of you know,
But now I must really go,
God's calling me home to heaven above,
Thanks for my last days so full of love,
You can only run after you crawl,
Now I'm ready for the fall.
