#19 What do you value?
What is the thing
That you value the most
People or pleasure
Just what do you boast?
Money, possessions
Silver and coin
Making the dollar
The banks that you join
Maybe it's people
The young and the old
Funny and smart
And it's true to be told
Your time spent, 'the key'
The clock ticks away
Just what do you value?
I'm asking today
Hours and hours
Building your prize
Just what can you see
When you look with your eyes
People or things
Places or thoughts
What do you value?
Just what have you brought?
If you value money
It sure pays the bill
But what about balance
That gives us the thrill
Take time to smell
All the roses out there
Slow down and look
At the people who care
If you value people
Your friends will surround
Leaving as legend
When deep underground
You can't take the toys
That the money can buy
But friendships are lasting
We always can try
A world full of lonely
The hungry and sad
So soon would be lifted
Just give and be glad
A friendship is worth
So much more than a coin
I wish we'd unite
And the haters can join
Melt all the hurt
All the suffer and pain
Someone to pour
All the grief down the drain
Giving a smile
While saying hello
Is worth so much more
Than you will ever know
Value the people
The laughter and touch
Put down the hang ups
Possessions and such
Schedule a luncheon
A trip to the show
Let all the people see
'Love's what we know'
Turn off the noises
Clean up the minds
Look at the hearts
With our hands intertwined
That's what I value
Could you follow suit?
All joined together
Give lonely the boot
