#86 My mom's 33rd birthday
I write this poem from me to you
So you can forget some of the things I've put you through
I will do anything that I hear you say
Because I love you and today's your special day
Today I'll be your one and only personal slave
I will get you anything that you crave
If you don't feel good we'll all just be in the house to stay
We'll take care of you, and fix you dinner while you lay
If somebody upsets you and makes you mad
Just beat them down instead of feeling blue and sad
You're the closest thing to a real mom that I could ever want
Even if we get mad and we start to taunt
I love you mom with all my heart
When our growing relationship was beginning to start
So we all need to love and stay together
Or our hearts will break and rip like a feather
Today is a great day without any stress
Because your day will be perfect and nothing less
I hope you have fun and just be cool
Even though I really missed you today at school
But the day is over and I am finally here
It's just a routine that we play year by year
You don't need to worry about what I say or do
Because all of my attention will be on you
So I just wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday
And to tell you that I am here to stay
To make sure nothing gets in your way
And if we have a bad situation that is filled with mistakes
We'll still be a family
I'll do whatever it takes
I LOVE YOU
And you don't even look a day over twenty-two
A baby is God's opinion that the world should go on.
Carl Sandburg
To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in order;
to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to put
the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we must
first set our hearts right. Confucius
Making the decision to have a child - it's momentous. It is to decide
forever to have your heart go walking outside your body. Elizabeth Stone
Perhaps the greatest social service that can be rendered by anybody to
this country and to mankind is to bring up a family. G.B. Shaw

In every dispute between parent and child, both
cannot be right, but they may be, and usually are, both wrong. It is this
situation which gives family life its peculiar hysterical charm.
